Iconic sculpted heads, almost primodial and ancient in their figural form,populated much of Puja's work.
Friezes of these profiles with geometric forms and decorative elements were bound through with monochromatic colours or strong vibrant palettes.
Following her recent journeys across India, her embrace of photographic documentation of her encounters along the roads transformed her paintings. From an abstract geometric base composition, she has developed realistic figurative work. Against vibrant backdrops symbolic of the Indian countryside, her'everyman' awaits changing of the lights at omnipresent crossroads. Her populated canvases have swelled into recognisable visages, into depictions, less of spirit than actual inhabitants and passerbys. From this aesthetic and personal vantage point forward,her trajectory shall evolve
